Touch Screen Remote Review

I love this remote. Kudos to the Harmony One remote, in which I now own 2. My latest purchase was for my downstairs setup which includes a Samsung 55" LED 240hz TV (UN55B8000), Pioneer VSX1020K receiver, Scientific Atlantic cable box (from Cox) and Samsung Blu-ray DVD (BD-P1600). Wow, I couldn't be happier. I can't tell you how good it feels to have just one remote that actually does everything it's supposed to do. My wife nagging about there being so many remotes was literally driving me insane, but I'll admit, it was a bit frustrating for me too. The setup is real easy, just make sure you have all of you model numbers on hand.

For me the beauty relies on pressing one button to watch a DVD the way it needs to be watched with my system. That includes turning the TV on, switching it to the correct HDMI input, turning the receiver on and doing the same with the input selection and making sure that the volume controls work for the receiver, not the TV volume...Harmony One does it without issue.

And I don't know whether to credit Samsung or Harmony One, but sometimes my wife or little one have the remote in a movie watching mode, but the actual components are not even turned on. It's truly nice that when I select "Watch DVD" again, it doesn't get things confused or force me to trick the remote (pointing it elsewhere) and redo the sequence. It knows that the status of the devices and goes through the sequence to ensure they are on and on turned to the correct input.

My only request is that Logitech add more themes. I really love the "Tron theme", but would like to see more.
I have never left a product review prior to this, but I felt that I should pass along my experience with this produce. I own a 50" hdtv, a av reciever and a ps3. the total time to set up the reomte for my system was less than 45 min from the time I opened the box until it was completely set up. I purchased the ps3 adaptor which set up in 3 minutes. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this because I was tired of having four remotes controlling my system. I'm so glad I did. I will caution that if you don't know exactly how your system is set up, you might have trouble configuring the remote. Luckily, all my components run through my home theater receiver, so for me, configuring this remote was a breeze. But if you do something wrong, it's very simple to change it. I also love how it has this built in feature that will fix itself. The first few times I used it everything turned on okay, but when I went to turn everything off, occasionally one component would be still on (like the cable box or the receiver). But you just press the help button, follow the simple on-screen prompts and the remote will fix itself. I haven't a problem with it since. I love the touch screen and the fact that the buttons are back-lit is a big plus. I definitely recommend this remote.

My original electronic's remote control malfunction made me to look at a universal solution. I found it on Logitech's Harmony One with color touch screen. Now all my remote electronic devices are in control on a unique touch. And more, defining activities, like watching TV or programming DVD all equipment involved can be powered on at once and prepared for use. On the touch screen you customize and organize all special buttons that you need. One special note to the learning capability, where you can memorize commands of the original remote control. A web database gives access to hundred thousands of models and manufactures.
